Measurement in Make-up, Skin Care and Repulping Applications
Owing to its broad and versatile application spectrum, the dermaTOP-blue is also frequently used in the context of aesthetic medicine, e.g. for the measurement of lips:
- Evaluation of te fine lip lines based on calculation of 2D or 3D skin roughness parameters
- Measurement of the lips’ volume variance
Methodology
To achieve the correct sensor positioning in order to ensure a precise and reliable way of measuring the volume of lips, the system user is guided via the software featuring a lower lip alignment mask. After completing the image acquisition, the main evaluation steps are:
- Geometry alignment by means of the lips three-dimensional surface
- Object detection by means of automatic or manual settings
- Calculation of two-dimensional horizontal roughness profiles
- Three-dimensional roughness calculation
- Global lips volume calculation and surface deviation statistics
(negative and/or positive volumes)
- Result of a volume measurement
All evaluations either can be carried out on the original volume, the extracted surface of the global lips wave or the complete 3D structure compensated rough part of the area.
